Ever since the dawn of Video Game home consoles in the 1970s, Video Games have since established themselves as a stable of modern digital entertainment. Having been dominated by cis white male western publishers and profit oriented business models for the past decades, the spectrum of video games demands to be reclaimed by the public, by artists, programmers, nerds, zinesters and everyone who wants to make their own game.

To this day, video games as a medium are often used to reproduce generic, stereotypical, invalidating, discriminating tropes, themes and narratives, all of which are known to sacrifice ethics, in order to bring both financial success and publicity.    

The innovative Video Game Plot Generator criticizes this constant recycling of themes, tropes, stereotypes and the acceptance of narratives which are mostly based on discrimination. By pressing a single red button, the player receives a randomly generated plot summary within one sentence. The generator combines some of the most overused, problematic and generic elements, that can be found throughout the history of video game story telling. This serves as both a parody, and as a wake-up call to those who are looking to use tools to create games of their own.
